Susan Overton joined Merlone Geier in 2012 as Vice President of Acquisitions. From 2012 thru 2016 she was responsible for property acquisitions and dispositions across all target markets. In 2017 Ms. Overton assumed a Managing Director role with primary responsibilities for leading Asset and Portfolio Management efforts, overseeing portfolio and asset-level decision analysis, oversight of fund-level performance metrics and corporate level operations, including systems and process improvements.
Prior to joining Merlone Geier, from 2009 thru 2011, Ms. Overton served as Vice President of Asset Management and subsequently as Vice President of Acquisitions with Verde Realty, a privately owned REIT. Ms. Overton was responsible for acquisitions in the United States and oversaw the acquisition of a $300 million industrial portfolio. From 2004 to 2009, Ms. Overton was with the Western Region of Kimco Realty Corporation, ultimately serving as Senior Director of Acquisitions responsible for the strategy and execution of acquisitions in the Western United States. From 2002 to 2004, she was in the General Electric Corporate Leadership Program.
Ms. Overton graduated from Northeastern University in 2002 with degrees in MIS and Marketing. She is an active participant in the International Council of Shopping Centers and a member of the Board of Directors of the non-profit foundation, College is Real. Ms. Overton is resident in the firm's San Francisco office.
