Michael Compasso joined Merlone Geier in 2014. As a Director in the Capital Markets group his primary responsibilities are capital markets and investor relations activities, including fund raising, investor reporting, arranging debt capital and managing the firm's banking relationships.
Prior to joining Merlone Geier, Mr. Compasso served for eight years as Vice President, Relationship Manager for Wells Fargo in their Commercial Real Estate and Special Situations groups. During this time his responsibilities included originating, structuring, and closing credit facilities for institutional sponsors, as well as completing the resolution of distressed loans. Previously Mr. Compasso worked for six years in commercial real estate financing and sales: from 2000 to 2002 with Amercon Realty Services, Inc. and from 2003 to 2006 with BBVA Compass.
Mr. Compasso graduated from Arizona State University in 1998, earning an undergraduate degree in finance. In 2009 he earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Compasso is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a resident in the firm's San Francisco office.
